You must be able to lift 50+ pounds and will be required to move dirt, rock, mud, lay asphalt, use jackhammers and other power operated equipment. There will be some travel involved and a clean driving record is a must. You’ll be required to drive various vehicles while pulling a trailer and/or equipment. General knowledge of a small computer device is required. Above all you’ll need to have a desire to learn and a commitment to safety.

Position Tasks

  • Using a hand shovel, dig around existing utility structures to prevent damage
  • Load and unload equipment and materials
  • Keep worksite clean and organized free from unnecessary hazards
  • Performing regular maintenance and cleaning on assigned vehicles and equipment
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisors

Physical and Environmental Demands

  • Ability to tolerate work in the extremes of weather without complaining is essential
  • Distinguish safety colors with 20/20 eyesight using corrective lenses if necessary
  • Ability to speak and hear worksite safety instructions
  • Withstand prolonged and repeated: lifting (including overhead, up to 50lbs); standing; climbing; kneeling; reaching and feeling; crouching and crawling
  • Ability to work with a heightened awareness around heavy equipment
  • Ability to stand for long periods (up to 14 hours at a time)
  • Quick and accurate hand-eye coordination to work safely
