SUB SURFACE UTILITY LOCATION SERVICES (POTHOLING)
Discovery’s Subsurface Utility Location Services (also known as potholing or daylighting) is a non-mechanical process that enables underground utilities to be exposed and documented before any construction or installation project begins. This provides the exact horizontal and vertical location, type and depth of all existing utilities that are currently in the ground that need to be located before any new construction project begins.

Our process is fast, precise and reduces project costs related to the risks caused by inaccurate underground information. Using our air and hydro excavation services does less damage to the surrounding soil than mechanical excavation which minimizes site restoration and expense.
HYDRO EXCAVATION
Discovery Hydrovac offers industry leading best hydro excavation services available today. It is a non-mechanical, non-destructive process that virtually eliminates any risk of underground utility damage.

Our hydro excavation is safer, faster, more precise and more cost effective than digging. It also requires less backfill, labor, restoration and has less environmental impact than traditional techniques.
AIR EXCAVATION
Discovery also provides the benefits of air excavation services. Air excavation can be used anywhere and provides the same benefits that hydro excavation can offer. It is also a non-mechanical, non-destructive process that virtually eliminates any risk of underground utility damage.

Air excavation is safe, fast, efficient and more cost effective than mechanical digging. Also, since the native soil is dry, it can be vacuumed and then immediately used as backfill which negates the need to haul mud away and return with dry dirt fill.
SUB SURFACE UTILITY LOCATION SERVICES (POTHOLING)
Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) is a preliminary locating service that scans the location of horizontal underground utilities and structures. GPR is the most reliable scanning technology available. It images objects and structures (both metallic and non-metallic) embedded in soil, rock concrete, asphalt, and fresh water – any non-metallic material.
